In Evil Nun Maze, you play a person trapped in a labyrinthine building full of plants. Your goal in each level is to solve a puzzle, which usually consists of crossing the corridors until you find a button that opens the elevator that lets you move on to the next floor. The floors of the building are increasingly labyrinthine and in all of them, the nun will be prowling around looking for you. And if she finds you, she'll kill you with a sledgehammer. Armed only with your intellect and your will to survive, you have to try to get to the next floor before the nun smashes you with her sledgehammer. The gameplay is simple: unlike other titles from the genre, if the nun finds you, all is not lost. If you have good enough reflexes, you'll be able to run away and get into the elevator before she captures you.

Every time you die, you can go to the upgrades menu where you can use the money you collect in each level to unlock items to help you complete the levels. These range from a magnet that attracts coins to shoes that allow you to go faster, and gloves that help you to avoid making any noise.
